With a very late start after a rain delay of over four hours, the Haleyville High Lady Lions softball team defeated Central of Florence 4 to 1 in regional tournament play in Huntsville Friday night. Lacy Burleson had a double in the bottom of the first inning to score Callie Pendley. No runs were scored until the bottom of the fourth inning when Sydney Kiser hit her third home run of the season to score two, after a double from Lacey Burleson. Perri Gilbert followed with another home run for the Lady Lions. Central had a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to end the scoring for the night.
The Lions will play the winner of the Ardmore and North Jackson game. That game is scheduled for Saturday morning at 8 a.m. Follow the game on Paradise 92.7 with David Albright and Samantha Poe. Air time 7:45 a.m.
