Electrical power was interrupted for a short time Monday afternoon in parts of Haleyville as a result of a city brush truck boom snagging a power line. The service line from a pole on the south side of Highway 129 to Ward's Wrecker Service on the north side was pulled to the breaking point, breaking the pole and leaving the transformers and wire in the highway.
There were no injuries. Alabama power crews arrived quickly, replaced the pole, transformers and wiring and then restored power to the area.
