Ladders used by the Haleyville Fire Department underwent their annual testing to insure they will work properly and hold their certified weight when needed. Chuck Goss, of Diversified Inspections of Phoenix, AZ, is shown lowerning a 500 pound test weight onto on of the several ladders used by the HPD. He first measured the distance to the floor before lowering the weight, then after removing it later, checked it again to see how much bent it retained. The large extendable ladder on the ladder truck was also tested to see if it would move from a set position in one hour. All the ladders passed the test and were certified for another year.
