The scene at 822 Bankhead Drive off Dime Road Thursday afternoon after WCSO Narcotics called HPD for assistance.

Two members of the Winston County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit, working with DHR on information that a child may have been in danger, discovered a multitude of drugs Thursday afternoon at 822 Bankhead Drive in Haleyville, resulting in a dash through town of multitudes of police cars.

According to WCSO Narcotics Sergeant Shawn Kelley, he and Lt. Wes Brown were on a home safety check with a DHR official when a piece of drug paraphernalia was tossed out a back window. When the front door opened, they saw three people, a young infant and drugs in plain site.

The three were secured by Kelley while Brown began clearing the rest of the residence. Brown discovered three more people and more drugs. Kelley asked HPD Officer Shane Whitten, who had just arrived on the scene, to call for assistance. Within minutes, Haleyville Police had a total of nine personnel on the scene.

A seventh person was also found hiding in the residence. Law enforcement arrested a total of seven people and they all face various drug-related charges. Marijuana, marijuana plants, drug paraphernalia and other controlled substances were seized.

WCSO has released a list of those arrested, and the charges they face: Bradley Dewayne Chipman: Chemical endangerment of a child, Possession of Drug paraphernalia, Possession of marijuana 1st; Charity Nichole Garrison: Possession of Drug paraphernalia; James Edward Gray: Chemical endangerment of a child, Possession of Drug paraphernalia, Possession of marijuana 1st; Tina Carol Preston: Chemical endangerment of a child, Possession of drug paraphernalia, Possession of controlled substance; Brandon Keith Rose: Possession of drug paraphernalia, Possession of marijuana 1st; Bryan Keith Rose: Chemical endangerment of a child, Possession of Drug paraphernalia, Possession of marijuana 1st; and, Lindsey Rayanne Rose: Chemical endangerment of a child, Possession of Drug paraphernalia, Possession of marijuana 1st, Possession of controlled substance.
