Kim Sartin and her 2012 2nd grade class |
It is a bittersweet day at Haleyville Elementary School. Kim Sartin, a highly respected and valued second grade teacher for the past fourteen years, is sharing her last day with her second grade class. Mrs. Sartin, beginning this fall, will be teaching fourth grade science. Science is a passion of Mrs. Sartin’s that she has longed to pursue before her teaching career ends. While she will be sorely missed by the second grade students, Mrs. Sartin is looking forward to getting to know this years fourth grade students and share with them her love of science.
Following is a brief excerpt of a tribute given to Mrs. Sartin today by her final second grade class:
OUR CHILDREN’S ANGEL
ONCE IN A LIFETIME
SOMEONE COMES ALONG
WHO WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE, ... FOREVER,
BECAUSE THEIR LOVE FOR YOU IS THAT STRONG.
WHEN GOD MADE THESE BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN,
HE PLANNED FOR THEM A MOST PRECIOUS GIFT
A GIFT THAT COULD ONLY BE GIVEN BY HIM
HE WOULD SHARE WITH THEM A WOMAN,
THAT WE ALL KNOW AS KIM.

Mrs. Sartin, these children enjoy you because you enjoy them, they trust you because you trust them, they respect you because you respect them, they love you, they will always love you, because you love them.
Thank you, Mrs. Sartin, for being you, and for loving our children.
