The city's Safe Room is progressing after rain delays and should be completed by June. Jerry Farris said that for completion he is "probably looking at June, because of the rain; we're trying to get it done faster." Block is now being laid, back fill on the wall is going into place and the roof is next. The 6-inch thick cement roof with steel reinforcement will be rated to withstand 250 mile per hour winds.
