Haleyville Has Three New Police Officers
Three new police officers were sworn in by City Judge Jonathan Lowe at the Haleyville City Council meeting Monday, March 21. Shown with theCouncil and Judge Lowe are Tim Harris, Tarius Walker, and Daniel Revilla.
In other business, the Council approved the general operation bills and purchase orders for February for $496,644.45. Also approved was the resurfacing and stripping of the City Hall parking lot and engine-ring for an airport project..
Caroline Thompson andMayor Pro-Tem Drew Thrasher were added to the Municipal Court Fund.
The next scheduled Council meeting will be Monday, April 4, 5:30 at the Haleyville City Hall.

Haleyville City Council Meeting
The Haleyville City Council met tonight, March 7, 2022, without Councilmembers Brian Berry and George “Blue” Russell in attendance. One bid was placed for the Tennis Court Renovation Project, and accepted, at the pricetag of $45,339.60. Twenty five new pool deck chairs, at the cost of $200 each, were approved, for a total of $5,000.00. Upon the suggestion from the Police Chief, Mayor Sunseri announced that three new officers had been hired, at the starting rate of $13 per hour, with increases worked in for certification, favorable evaluations, and pay adjustments. Opening a CD with the proceeds from the sale of the Fontaine Property was approved, with the intentions of having the funding available for putting in an additional lane in down at the Chevron.

Arrest Made in Manslaughter Case
Taylor Daniel Morgan
District Attorney Scott Slatton and Investigator Rusty Hulsey of the 25th Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office Criminal Investigation Division announces the arrest of Taylor Daniel Morgan, 30 years old of 9022 County Road 99, Addison, Alabama in connection with the death investigation of Brian Keith Fincher. Fincher was found deceased at his home on February 19, 2022. Taylor Morgan has been charged with Manslaughter and Theft of Property 3rd after evidence revealed his involvement during the investigation. This matter remains under active investigation by the 25th Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone with information regarding this case may contact Inv. Hulsey at 205-570-4797. District Attorney Scott Slatton would like to thank the State Bureau of Investigation, Addison Police Department, and Winston County Sheriffs Office for their involvement in this case. This case is an example of what happens when agencies work together. Due to the ongoing investigation, no further comments will be made at this time.

Haleyville City Council
The Haleyville City Council met Tuesday, February 22, with all members present. TheJanuary general bills and purchase orders were approved in the amount of $335, 731.76. The Council approved a change order to the Mineral Springs project, Resolution 22.06.
Also approved was the purchase of an ice making machine for the Sports Complex for $$,923.00.
