The Haleyville Lumber and Supply building was totally destroyed by fire Wednesday night. Haleyville and four other area fire departments including Bear Creek, Pebble, Delmar, and Craft responded with firemen and equipment. The fire was discovered at 9:30 p.m. Because of the age of the building and contents, including paint and building supplies, the fire was impossible to stop. The cause of the fire is unknown. Firemen were still on the scene at daybreak.
