The Alabama Department of Transportation has reopened Highway at the new bridge over Barn Creek. The older narrow bridge has been replaced with a new, higher and wider bridge. A short section of Highway 278 at the White Community remains closed and requires a short detour while a bridge is being replaced. An adjacent bridge replacement was complete last year on Highway 129.
