Just after 2 p.m. Thursday, Devon Hurley, 19, Bear Creek lost control of her car which left the roadway, flipped and came to rest upside down in a ditch on Highway 13 north near the Midway Restaurant. Hurley was transported by ambulance to the Lakeland ER with no life threatening injuries. She was reportedly on her way to work at Taco Bell in Jasper. The Haleyville Fire Department reponded quickly to the call, which initially was thought to have a baby tralpped in the wreckage. Rescurers were relieved to find the only occupant was Hurley.
