Safeplace held its Winston County Walk a Mile for a Child event Thursday. Founded in 1981, Safeplace is a domestic violence awareness program in northwest Alabama. It provides free services to victims and their children from Colbert, Franklin, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Marion and Winston counties.
