Tracy Rye reported the Haleyville Civitan Club made a little over $8,000 from the annual BBQ diner and auction held last Saturday night at Slaughter Fellowship hall, FUMC. The money in part goes to support the Winston/Marion ARC and other special projects. The Club's  main project presently in collaboration with the city is the purchase and placement of a lift chair and special steps for the Haleyville pool. The lift and steps will help anyone who needs help in getting into or out of the water. Presently, a vertical ladder is very difficult for many and impossible for some. The lift chair and special steps should help.

The Civitans thank the many businesses making donations for this year's auction. If you are interested in joining, the Civitans meet each Tuesday at noon at the Galley Restaurant.
