Trooper Seriously Injured During Traffic Stop By HBTV Thursday, December 11, 2014 | 8:12 PM

HAMILTON-A three-vehicle crash at 1:35 p.m. today, Dec. 11, seriously injured an Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Trooper and two others.  The Trooper, who is assigned to the Hamilton Highway Patrol Post, was conducting a traffic stop on a GMC Acadia when a 2014 Peterbilt left the roadway and struck both vehicles. The truck then struck the Trooper as he stood outside his Dodge Charger patrol vehicle. The Trooper was airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham with serious injuries. The driver of the Acadia also sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Miss. The driver of the Peterbilt was injured as well and was transported by ambulance to North Mississippi Medical Center in Hamilton. This crash occurred on Interstate 22 at the 20 mile marker, approximately three miles east of Hamilton.  No further information is available as Troopers continue to investigate.
