There was a pedestrian hit by a train around 10:00 Thursday night. Robert Abbott of Haleyville was walking on the railroad tracks on Alabama Avenue near the old Winston Furniture Plant when he was struck by the train. Abbott was transported to Lakeland Community Hospital for initial treatment after Air Evac declined flight due to the weather. He was later flown to Huntsville Hospital.  This accident is under investigation by the Haleyville Police Department and the Railroad Police.
