During Monday evening's city council meeting, the Haleyville City Council voted to make repairs to the Scout Hut in South Haleyville. Those repairs were approved up to $50,000. Here is a breakdown of the expenses to the building and the bids received for each project.
Fencing:
Austin Fencing- $12,472
Chambers Fencing- $13,275
One other business declined to bid.
Gas Pack (Heating and Air Conditioning):
Glass Heating and Air- $4,843
Keith's Heating and Air- $5,490
Affordable Service- $4,992- $5,489
Concrete:
Billy Hood- $23,340
Mike Forester- $21,000 (He does not have worker's comp insurance as required for city contracts and therefore has withdrawn his bid on this project.)
One other organization declined to bid.
Basketball Goal:
BSN Sports- $3,750
Paint and other supplies for lining the court will be purchased locally for around $150 and completed by city employees. The grand total of the project, according to these bids, will be $42,215.
