Storm Damage By Sam Poe Wednesday, July 9, 2014 | 11:07 AM

Strong summer storms passed through Haleyville Tuesday afternoon, leaving a trail of moderate damage across portions of the city. There were downed power lines and tree limbs, but the most significant damage was at the Lions Den near the intersection of State Highway 13 and 9th Avenue. The fuel pump canopy and its support beams were damaged, leaving the canopy unsteady and tilted.

Summer storms are very common and although typically not severe, they should still be taken seriously while passing through. For photos of the damage, see www.hbtv.us.
