Last Tuesday, Winston County Sheriff's deputies were serving an arrest warrant at a home across from the hospital. They arrived to arrest Kayla Ballard for failure to appear and detected an odor consistent with the manufacturing of crystal methamphetamine. With the consent of the property owner, they searched the residence and discovered two spent bottles.

On Friday, they returned with three arrest warrants for two counts of unlawful manufacturing of a controlled subtance in the second degree (Ala. Code 13A-12-217) and one count of chemical endangerment of a child (Ala. Code 26-15-3.2). Arrested were Kayla Faith Ballard, James Earl Hyde, and Tina Preston.
