Two Haleyville Residents Arrested for Meth By Sam Poe Monday, June 23, 2014 | 6:06 AM

On Wednesday, June 18, 2014, the Haleyville Police Department arrested JEFFREY DEWAYNE MADDOX, age 50, of 27 Parson Lane, Haleyville, and MICHAEL ANTHONY MADDOX, age 53, of 27 Parson Lane, Haleyville.  Jeffrey Maddox was arrested on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.  Michael Maddox was arrested on charges of Unlawful Manufacture of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree and Possession of Marijuana in the First Degree.  Following their arrests, the defendants were transported to the Winston County Jail in Double Springs.
 
The arrests concluded a multi-week investigation that commenced with reports being made to the District Attorney’s Office of suspected drug activity in an area off of Highway 13 South near the old Captain Dave’s restaurant.
 
Assisting with the investigation and the arrests were the Haleyville Police Department, the District Attorney’s Office for the 25th Judicial Circuit, the Alabama Alcohol Beverage Control Board, and the Alabama Department of Conservation.
