There was a one vehicle accident on Macedonia Road Wednesday just before 8:00 a.m. Randy Gates of Haleyville was driving the Ford Escape north on Macedonia Road before he lost control of the vehicle, collided with a power pole, and landed upside down off the shoulder of the road. The Pebble Fire Department responded to the scene and freed Gates from the SUV. He was transported to Lakeland Community Hospital by Regional Paramedical Services, and the accident is under investigation by the Winston County Sheriff's Department.
