Mayor Request Support for Departing Soldiers By HBTV Tuesday, April 8, 2014 | 8:04 PM

Haleyville's 877th Engineer Battalion will be deploying Wednesday morning for Afghanistan. The troops are set to leave the Armed Forces Joint Readiness Center at 9:00 a.m. They will be traveling on buses and will be escorted through town by the Haleyville Police Department. Mayor Ken Sunseri is asking Haleyville citizens to line the streets in support of the troops. The route will begin at the Armed Forces Joint Readiness Center, will travel Newburg Road to State Highway 13, and will continue south through Natural Bridge. Mayor Sunseri would like for the entire route to be lined with Haleyville citizens on this important day.
