Over 300 Locals Laid Off By Sam Poe Friday, March 14, 2014 | 3:03 PM

Harden Manufacturing office Friday morning, with only three cars after the massive layoff Thursday

Officials of Harden Manufacturing have confirmed that more than three hundred employees were laid off Thursday. At this time, the officials are unable to confirm whether this will be a permanent layoff or if employees will be recalled. Very few details are known about the future of employees or the future of Harden Manufacturing.

Bear Creek Mayor Connie Morrison and Haleyville Mayor Ken Sunseri both have stated this layoff will have a devastating impact on the economy in both Bear Creek and Haleyville.  Both mayors state they are very concerned not only because of the impact of the business loss but for every employee who is now searching for a job in this tough economic situation. Both cities are ready and willing to work with Harden Manufacturing and any additional agencies that can assist with reopening the facility if the opportunity is available.

We will provide additional information as it is made available to us.
