There was a residential fire on Franklin County Highway 92 in the Pebble Community around 11:00 Sunday morning. The Pebble, Haleyville, and East Franklin Fire Departments responded to the Flannagin residence, but despite efforts from the firemen, the home was completely destroyed, and James C. Flannagin was killed as a result of the fire. The Franklin County Sheriff's Department, Franklin County Coroner, Alabama Fire Marshal's Office, and the Russellville Fire Department were also on the scene for safety and investigation. The fire is currently under investigation by the Alabama Fire Marshal's Office.
