Firefighters use the ladder truck to see inside the middle section of the dust bin at Door Components.

The dust bin at Door Components expels dust and smoke during a test of the system Monday evening hoping to expose the source of a fire.

The dust bin at Door Components caught fire late Monday afternoon and Haleyville firefighters worked for over three hours to ensure the fire was extinguished. Firefighters fought from the bottom of the bin on a ladder, from the middle of the bin off the ladder truck and finally from above through a service entrance. Firefighters tried to use as little water as possible in an attempt not to damage equipment inside the bin. The system itself was used to fan any possible remaining fire. Shortly after 8 PM a final test showed no fire remaining.
