The Haleyville City Council held its regular meeting Monday morning and debated changing its meeting times.
-- Councilmember Drew Thrasher
Mayor Ken Sunseri informed the Council that complaints had been received about the time of the meetings and asked the Council to consider a change. During the debate, Councilmember Drew Thrasher said, "We moved (the meeting) from 5:30 to 7 o'clock when we first came to office because people said they couldn't come. They still didn't come." The Council voted unanimously to keep its meetings at 11 AM.
July general expenditures of $327,761.98 were approved and Gary Hood's $5,000 bid on the sale of the 1993 dump truck was accepted.
The next meeting is Tuesday, September 4, 11 AM, rather than Monday, September 3, which is Labor Day.
