The Republican logo appearing on some campaign signs for the August 28 election, a non-partisan election, has caused the Winston County Republican Party to issue a statement.

The statement, issued over the weekend, says, “Any use of any Republican Party logo on a candidate's campaign sign or literature is NOT authorized by the … Party; it is NOT to be interpreted as an endorsement ….”

Municipal elections are, by law, non-partisan elections. No one who has qualified to run is the nominee of any party.
