Phone, internet and data services appear to have returned to normal Friday afternoon after outages earlier in the day that affected land-lines and cellular calls and knocked out service to 9-1-1 call centers in Haleyville and Double Springs for about an hour. CenturyLink spokesperson Carmen Butler said, "We did have an outage related to a technical issue in the Winston County area." The outage affected voice calls but had no effect on texting, and internet service was only briefly interrupted.
