With all members present, the Haleyville City Council met Monday afternoon at the Haleyville City Hall. After approving the minutes of the last meeting on April 4, the council approved the general obligation bills in the amount of $404,200.67. 

The following items were also approved: 

A bid for the sidewalks at the new sports complex to Dymac construction, for $111,800; 

Advertising for a police officer to replace Jason Winkles; 

A street light at 1210 14th Way; 

April as Fair Housing Month; 

Advertising for a street employee.

The mayor announced the hiring of 12 people as seasonal lifeguards at the city pool for the Park and Rec Department.

The next scheduled council meeting will be Monday, May 2, 5:30 p.m. at city hall. That is also the date set for the official Open House for the new City Hall is Monday, May 2, from 2-4 p.m. The public is invited.
