Haleyville City Council Meeting

The Haleyville City Council met Monday evening for their first meeting of 2016. All members were present. The council approved purchasing a heating and air conditioning unit for the pool side of the Neighborhood Facilities Building from Glass Heating and Air for $15,015. 

Mayor Sunseri announced Haleyville fireman Tommy Lewis plans to retire in April, and the council decided to table advertising for a full-time fireman replacement. After an executive session, the council tabled a request to annex into the city approximately 12 acres of land located next to the Knight sub division, owned by Butch Benton. 

It was announced Mayor Sunseri hired Patricia Garrett to work as a substitute driver at the Senior Citizen Center at $7.25/hour effective immediately.

The next scheduled meeting of the Haleyville City Council will be Monday, January 18, 5:30 p.m. at the Neighborhood Facilities Building.
