The Haleyville Rotary Club Toys for Kids program in 2014 was a great success. We had a lot of help this past year gathering toys and distributing them to the needy families. I would like to thank all the businesses, churches, and individuals who gave so generously of their time and money to help those less fortunate. I would also like to thank the American Legion for the use of their building to store and bag toys. We were able to give toys to over 300 children in our local area.
We are planning to continue our efforts again this year helping families in our area have a Merry Christmas. We ask that you consider making a difference in a child’s life by making a donation or if you would like to sponsor a child you may do so for just forty dollars ($40). We ask that you purchase one large toy and two smaller toys for the child you have selected. You can pick up a star at Lakeland Community Hospital (See Whitney Hunsinger or Katrina Wray) with the child’s age and sex listed. This is a good idea if you have children so they can be involved in helping other children less fortunate and teach them the true meaning of Christmas.
We are accepting monetary donations and any new toy for this year’s program. You can bring your donations by Alabama Power Company, First National Bank, Trader’s and Farmers Bank (3 locations) and Lakeland Community Hospital Emergency Admitting Department. You may also mail a check to Lakeland Community Hospital P.O Box 780, Haleyville, Alabama 35565 Attn: Toys for Kids. Please make all checks payable to Haleyville Rotary Club Toys for Kids.
Applications will be accepted starting November 2 thru November 13 from 8:30am through 5:00pm at Alabama Power Company Haleyville Office, Trader’s and Farmer’s Bank (3 locations), First National Bank. Lakeland Community Hospital will accept applications 24 hours, 7 days per week in Emergency Admitting Department. .

It is so rewarding to be a part of this special project and help so many less fortunate children to enjoy the Christmas season. Thank you and May God continue to bless you and your family!
