The Haleyville Board of Education, with all members present, met Tuesday evening and elected new Board Officers. Beth McAlpine stepped down as president and was replaced by Kris Burleson, who conducted the remainder of the meeting. Barry Burleson was elected Vice-President of the board.
The Board approved the expenditures for April 2015 in the amount of $1,301,792.72. Summer school at the Haleyville Middle School and Haleyville High School were approved with the first session to begin June 8. Lunch prices, as well as bids for milk, bread and ice cream were approved. A contract with Encore Rehabilitation was approved for PT/OT for the coming school year.
Several items were approved under use of facilities, field trips and fundraisers and personnel. See details below.
An announcement was made there will be one last chance for HES Kindergarten registration on June 23, 2 - 6 p.m.
Graduation for the HHS Class of 2015 is Friday night at 8 p.m. at Bubba Scott Field.
The next meeting of the Haleyville BOE will be June 30.
