The Haleyville City Council met for their regular bi-monthly meeting Monday afternoon at the Neighborhood Facilities Building (NFB). With Councilmen Thrasher and Wilson absent, the council approved the expenses for February for over $600,000. This was higher than normal, but included several large items including the purchase of a garbage truck for $136,000, $38,000 for a tractor and $47,000 for two new police cars.
The Council also approved the purchase of a used bat wing Bush Hog from the county for $3,500 and advertising for seasonal employees and lifeguards for the Park and Rec Department.
The next scheduled Haleyville City Council meeting will be Monday, April 6, 5:30 p.m. at the NFB.
