PES Celebrates Red Ribbon Week

Phillips Elementary School recently celebrated Red Ribbon Week to emphasize the importance of living a drug free lifestyle. This program is aimed at the youth of our nation in hopes of preventing disastrous lifestyle choices in the future. Red Ribbon Week is a nationwide program that began in 1988. Today, it serves as a tool to help communities educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities. It has already reached millions of U.S. children and families.

This year’s theme is Love Yourself. Be Drug Free. Themes at Phillips Elementary included Superhero Day-Say No to Drugs, Crazy Socks-Sock it to Drugs, Boot Day-Give Drugs the Boot, Nerd Day-Too Smart for Drugs, Red Day-Love Yourself.
