The City of Haleyville held a bid opening Friday morning for bids on construction of the new Haleyville Fire Station 1. The current fire station was recently sold during the sale of Haleyville City Hall to CVS Pharmacy. Here’s a look at the bids received for the site preparation, concrete work, and basic exterior building for the Haleyville Fire Station.
Base Bid: The amount projected for the overall project, not including each of the alternates listed below.
Alternate #1: Total that will be removed from base bid IF the building is completed with all metal siding and no block
Alternate #2: Amount to be added to base bid if glass doors are added to truck bays
Alternate #3: Amount to be removed from base bid if no generator is added to the building

The job will be awarded based on the base bid submitted from each company. The Haleyville City Council originally planned a special called meeting for Monday, October 27. However, that meeting was canceled to allow more time for price negotiations on this project. The bid is expected to be awarded Monday, November 3, 2014, in the regularly scheduled Haleyville City Council meeting.
