By way of a number of events in her life, Louisa Elizabeth Jane Bates Brooks  became known as one of the most notorious people in all of North Alabama.  She was known all around as simply “Aunt Jenny,” and she is the legend of many tales.

On October 28 at 6:30 p.m. the Haleyville Public Library will host an evening with “ Aunt Jenny.”  Carla Waldrep, Librarian, will tell the many stories of the Life and Legend of this infamous lady from the Warrior Mountains (Bankhead Forest) and will conclude the program with some of the famous Ghost Stories about Aunt Jenny and other spirits that haunt our great state.  For more information call the Haleyville Library at 486-7450.
