Winston County Commissiones David Cummings and Bobby Everett discuss changes at the intersection.

As a part of recent projects on Newburg Road, the intersection of County Road 11 and Newburg Road has been changed. Before the project began, if you were traveling north on Newburg Road, you were able to continue straight without stopping. However, you must now make a slight right hand turn and stop before making either a right turn onto County Road 11 or left to continue on Newburg Road. If you are traveling south on Newburg Road (from the area of the airport), you now have a yield sign when approaching the intersection. There is not a change while traveling on County Road 11.

Winston County Commissioners David Cummings and Bobby Everett stated this decision was not made locally. All funding for this project had been appropriated by ALDOT through various programs. In order to receive this funding, the changes had to be made to the intersection as required by ALDOT. This is one of several changes across the state to make the road safer for Alabama drivers.
