Haleyville Firefighters Jeff Postell and Tim Williams return the child to his family after locating him in the pasture.
Rescue volunteers from around the area worked diligently Sunday morning to find a missing toddler. A three year old child was reported missing near Quarter Creek Sunday around 10:00 a.m. Team members from the Haleyville Police Department, Haleyville Fire Department, Haleyville Rescue Squad, Bear Creek Fire Department, Pebble Fire Department, Delmar Fire Department, and other state organizations filled the area to search for the child. About forty five minutes after the initial call, the child was found safe in the horse pasture just behind the home.
Family members on the scene stated the child has a tendency to wander away, and they were unsure how long he had been outside the home. The child is the son of Charlotte Stamos and Mike Southern. The family expressed sincere gratitude for the efforts of everyone who assisted with the search.
