Firefighter Appreciation Month

Each year the Haleyville Fire Department takes part in the "Fill the Boot" campaign for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. This national fundraiser enables local children and families affected by neuromuscular diseases to take part in summer camps, medical services, research grants, support groups, and public education opportunities.

Because of the Haleyville Fire Department's continued support of the MDA and the "Fill the Boot Campaign," the MDA has partnered with the City of Haleyville to proclaim August as Firefighter Appreciation Month. Mayor Ken Sunseri issued the official proclamation to Haleyville Fire Chief Phillip Weaver at last week's Haleyville City Council meeting. (See photo above.)
