The Haleyville 9-1-1 Festival will be held in Downtown Haleyville Friday and Saturday. This festival is held each year to honor the policemen, fire fighters, paramedics, and various other first responders who serve the community. Haleyville, Alabama is the home of the first 9-1-1 call, and the city is proud to honor those who still answer the calls every day.
Because of the festivities, many roads will be barricaded and impassible for extended periods of time throughout the weekend. The Haleyville Police Department encourages you to use caution throughout town this during this event, especially in the downtown area. Also, be aware of your surroundings, as there will be many pedestrians due to limited parking around the festival. Another important thing to remember is if you leave valuables in your car, make sure they are out of sight and out of mind to prevent theft.
Have fun, and be safe!
