The Haleyville City Council met for the regularly scheduled council meeting Monday evening. Councilmen Jonathon Bennett and Drew Thrasher were absent. The following items were approved.
- regular council minutes from 5-8-14
- April operational bills in the amount of $394,197.04
- 2007 bond re-issue with the Haleyville Board of Education (This re-issue will save the school almost $400,000 that will be received in cash on the day of the closing.)
- change order on Whitman drainage project for $1,028 in additional work needed once the project began
- change order on Swann drainage project for $5,037 in additional work needed once the project began
- declaration of surplus property in Mako Air Breathing Machine that will be donated to the Delmar Fire Department
- amendment to resolution for renting the Harden Hanger to P.R. Hughes Trading Company to alter rent to $600 per month and to allow alterations to the property to make suitable for the business use
The mayor also hired four seasonal employees for the Street and Sanitation Department and five lifeguards for the Haleyville City Pool.
