The Haleyville City Council met for their regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday evening. Councilmen Jonathan Bennett and Royce Benefield were absent. The following items were approved.
-council meeting minutes from 2/3/14
-work session minutes from 2/12/14
-January operational bills in the amount of $486,908.76
-bid for Cumens Subdivision street reconstruction (paving and drainage) in the amount of $399,122.00 to Robertson Excavating Company in Winfield who submitted the lowest bid
-pay scale for the Haleyville Street and Sanitation employees (This will not affect current employees but will serve as the starting wages for new hires. $11.03 per hour at hire, $11.55 per hour after 6 months with favorable evaluation, and top at $12.04 after 3 years)
-edger for Haleyville Park and Recreation in the amount of $2100 from the Park and Recreation's Special Event Fund
The council did not discuss the sale of Haleyville City Hall. All locations of potential interest for relocation of city buildings in this sale are still being discussed and have not been finalized at this time. FInal decisions on the relocation of these building will be made if the sale of Haleyville City Hall is completed.
