Traffic Stops Result in Multiple Drug Arrests

Officers from the Haleyville Police Department continue the fight against drugs and have made four arrests since Thursday while on traffic stops. 

First, Robert Lee Pinkney, 37 of Russellville, was charged with Possession of Synthetic Marijuana and Unlawful Possession with the Intent to Distribute Thursday evening when he was stopped on State Highway 129. In excess of fifteen grams of synthetic marijuana was found in the vehicle and on Pinkney's person during the stop. 

 

Next, Robert Pope, 40 of Haleyville, was arrested on Carl Elliott Drive in Haleyville around 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning. Officers found an active methamphetamine lab in his vehicle during the traffic stop, and he has been charged with Manufacturing of Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of a Concealed Weapon Without a Permit. 

 

Finally, Sunday evening, officers made another traffic stop on Fifth Avenue. On this stop, Stacey Ann Pierce (passenger of the vehicle), 31 of Haleyville, and Michael Chad Corkren (driver of the vehicle), 42 of Haleyville, were taken into custody. Pierce was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, and Resisting Arrest. Corkren has been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.
