With the extremely cold temperatures tonight and through the weekend, now is the time to prepare for yourself and your family. In Bear Creek, there will be a warming station set up in the basement of the Bobby Bishop Community Center for anyone who does not have access to a warm place and for those without power and/or water. The warming center will be opening beginning Thursday evening.
From US National Weather Service Birmingham Alabama: Now is the time to prepare for the upcoming bitter cold! If you haven't already, please winterize your home, make sure elderly family members and neighbors will be taken care of, and make plans for outdoor pets and livestock. Our first shot of bitter cold air will arrive Thursday night. An even colder airmass is expected to impact the area early next week.
