The annual Toys for Kids Drive in Haleyville is underway!
This year, the organization will serve 286 children in Haleyville, in order to provide them with toys for their Christmas gifts. The deadline for signing up for the project has already passed, but distribution of the toys is quickly approaching. If you are signed up to receive toys, they will be passed out Friday night, December 13, at the American Legion Building in Haleyville behind the Lions Den. If you have questions or concerns, contact Barry Burleson at (205)486-8121.
The Toys for Kids organization thanks each individual and business in the community who has donated to the cause and to those who have had fundraisers to assist with the project. Amongst those contributions, Walmart generously donated $1,500 to assist. Walmart also graciously provided support during the recent shopping trip for toys. Shown in the photos on this story are members of the Toys for Kids Project, Haleyville Area Chamber of Commerce, Walmart representatives, and numerous volunteers who make this project successful every year.
