Garage Fire

The Haleyville and Delmar Fire Departments responded to the scene of a structure fire at the Johnny Gillard residence on Beech Grove Road Saturday afternoon. The fire began in the garage located directly behind the home, and thanks to the quick response of firemen on the scene, the fire did not spread into the main residential area.

The home owner used the garage for storage of vehicles, hay, and other household items.  All belongings inside the garage were destroyed, and another storage building in the area was damaged due to the heat from the fire. No one was injured in this fire.

The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.
