Another road resurfacing job is almost complete on Dime Road. Striping and the addition of gravel alone the sides are all that's needed to finished the latest county paving project. According to Winston County Commissioner David Cummings (on the right in photo), the paving is a $633,000 project funded in part locally with the gas tax. The main funding of $500,000 is federal and $133,000 is matching funds from the county.
According to Cummings, this is the amount of money available each year for such projects and is alternated yearly with funding of projects on the east or west side of the county. This year it is the west, and the resurfacing of Dime Road is the project.
