The Haleyville City Council met Monday morning. First, they approved the minutes from the last meeting as well as the operational expenses for the month of February. HB 257 and SB 217 are bills in the state legislature that deal with rental of residential properties. The council voted to oppose the bills. Next, they approved an airport attendant contract and the county gravel/pavement agreement. The council then approved the update for traffic signals being installed throughout the town and approved a bid for concrete ramps at the four new storm shelters. They also approved two changes to the improvements being made at the airport as well as repairs to the wall and stairs from the 21st Street Gym to the Head Start building. Finally, the council approved to extend the contract with Scott Hunt as City Prosecutor for an additional ninety days. The Haleyville City Council will meet again April 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.
