Boating Accident Leaves One Dead

The Marion County Sheriff's Department and the Marine Police responded to a boating accident on Campbell Road Sunday evening.  Terry Lawrence and William Sartin were fishing in a pond when the boat accidentally capsized dumping both men into the water.  Reliable sources state that neither of the men was able to swim, and neither was wearing a life jacket.  Sartin was able to get to the shore and called for help, but Lawrence was unable to get to safety.  The Haleyville Rescue Squad recovered the body from the water later in the evening.
