The Haleyville High School Varsity Baseball Team opened their season with a double header Monday night at Northridge High School. The starting pitcher for the Lions was Bradley Bailey, and he pitched three innings before he was relieved by Zach Marbutt. The Lions lost this game with a score of 8 to 2. Hunter Hood had two base hits, and Taner Ivey and Zach Marbutt contributed with one RBI each for the two points.
The second game began with Andrew Townsend on the mound for the Lions. He was relieved in the sixth inning by Trey Dennis. The Lions lost the game with a score of 7 to 4. Ben Richards had two RBIs from a double to right field, and the other runs were scored on errors.

The Lions will begin the WAC Tournament Tuesday evening at 4:00 p.m. in Hamilton.
