Mrs. Angela Spiller will present a students' performance of "Groovin' with the Arts" for the 21st Century Summer Academy Program, Friday, July 27, 6 PM, at the HES Cafetorium. HES Principal Susan Riggs said, "Please come and join us for a short, but powerful performance."
Children ages 4-13 participated in the camp. During this past week, Spiller incorporated music, speaking parts, choreographed dance steps, and art into the lessons. Riggs added, "(Miller) is a PE/Music teacher from Tennessee who has a very innovative way of teaching."
According to Riggs, research has proven that music incorporated into physical education and academics helps improve test scores, as well as behavior. "We hope that you have the time to come share this experience with our students," she concluded.
