The Haleyville Board of Education held its regular meeting Tuesday, March 20. The Board's first item of business was to “clarify” action it had taken on March 6, in a special-called meeting. It then changed the number of signatures required on financial instruments.

At that meeting, “Clint Baggett stepped down from his duties as Superintendent effective March 7, 2012.” The resolution went on to say that he would be on leave until his official retirement date of May 1, 2012. It also stated he “stepped into a consulting role on March 7.”

Another resolution adopted removed Baggett as a signatory from all financial accounts and replaced him with Interim Superintendant Linda Godsey. It also said, “... all accounts and instruments of the Haleyville City Board of Education shall require two authorized signatures for action from this point forward ….” The resolution did not specify whose two signatures would be required.

As previously reported, the Board accepted the resignation of Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Blaine Hathcock.

The Board also took the following action: approved board expenditures for February in the amount of $1,156,964.97; approved the substitute teacher list with 2 additions; and amended the FY2012 Annual Budget.

The next regular meeting of the Board is April 24, 2012, 7 PM.
